Conference Committee Members & Volunteers Needed
Committee Opportunities:
· Program – Select session and plenary speakers, recruit speakers/topics to fill gaps in daily schedule, act as point of reference for speakers, work with logistics sub-committee to determine timeline
· Sponsors/Exhibitors – recruit sponsors and exhibitors, act as the liaison from the Chapter to the Sponsor/Exhibitor in providing information and ensuring payment is received
· Logistics – Work with the timeline of the conference and work with the various sub-committees to determine those specific timelines; develop a plan for the day of the conference to organize volunteers
· Marketing/PR – Design a timeline for e-blasts, social media updates, etc., design communications
· Resource Center/Book Store – Recruit a vendor to act as the Book Store provider at the Conference; recruit publications for free give-a-ways to conference attendees; implement other ideas to add value for conference attendees during breaks (e.g. Ask a CFRE booth).
Volunteer Opportunities:
· Proofing – An extra set of eyes is always helpful when proofing the invitations and program books
· Stuffing – Traditionally, the evening/afternoon before the conference a group of volunteers gather to help stuff the bags with free goodies for conference attendees
· Room Hosts (two per break-out session room) – Announce the speaker for the session (a bio will be provided); pass out and collect evaluation forms from attendees

The Awards and Scholarships Committee meets 4-5 times a year with conference calls as needed to review applications for AFP-RI’s professional development and conference scholarships, as well as nominations for the Fundraising Executive of the Year Award and National Philanthropy Day Awards. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Education Committee plans seven educational workshops during the year. The committee meets four times during the year to plan for and discuss topics, presenters, venues, coordination, etc. If you have ever been to one of the sessions you know how well received they are. The Membership Committee plans five “Networking Breakfasts”, including the Holiday Breakfast, and the Annual Meeting. The committee meets at 8:00AM four to five times a year to plan these well attended breakfasts. Contact Katherine for more information or to join the committee.
